System of the Month May: Blade Runner “Electric Dreams”

In “Electric Dreams” – the year is 2037. Last year, the Wallace Corporation launched its new Nexus 9 models. Which has led to a change in people’s everyday lives that would be hard to imagine today without!

Welcome to Los Angeles, the city where it rains seemingly non-stop, its skyline a jagged landscape of neon-lit megacorporations and decaying skyscrapers. Rain-soaked streets are clogged with flickering holograms, flying vehicles buzz through the air and masses of weary creatures – both human and replicant – struggle through their daily lives.

Smog clings to everything and the air is thick with the stench of industry, but also of human despair. In the shadows, powerful corporations pull the strings while blade runners hunt for renegade replicants. In this city, survival is the only law and justice is as fleeting as a dying light.

Blade Runner – dark cyberpunk setting with a detective character in futuristic Los Angeles. Blade Runner offers a dark, eerie setting, steeped in the gloomy atmosphere of the films and the literary source material. The game mechanics use an adapted version of the Year Zero engine.

Trigger warning: The Blade Runner series deals with dark and existential themes, and this role-playing game is no exception. The stories told in this game can be violent, disturbing and raise questions about personal morality. This is not a game for children.

System of the Month March: W10+

We are in the Regency era in our good old world, in England, but not quite as we know it from the history books or from Jane Austen.

On a balmy late fall day, just before the good society is about to leave their country estates to spend the ball season in London, the Marchioness of Ripon, Phyllis Barrington, has invited everyone of distinction in the region to an enjoyable evening of music.

But the evening turns out differently than expected, the players are faced with a variety of challenges and everything is demanded of them.

Will the characters manage to survive the evening without losing their reputation, their sanity or even their lives?

And achieve at least one of several goals in the process?

We shall see! In any case, I’m looking forward to seeing YOU. Mesdames, Messieurs, yours sincerely, your host Andrea (he/him).

The session will be played in German

Trigger warning – The game will be played without a net and safety line. Retreat is offered if it gets too much for someone.

System: W10+ goes Ghastly Liaisons or Bridgerton meets de Sade and Bram Stoker. A system developed over 40 years, without levels but skill-based, in which relationships are everything.

Date: 22.03.2025 – Time: 14:00 to 17:00

System of the Month February: Vaesen

In dark forests, beyond the mountains, by black lakes in hidden groves. At your doorstep. In the shadows, something stirs. Strange beings. Twisted creatures, lurking at the edge of vision. Watching. Waiting. Unseen by most, but not by you. You see them for what they really are. Vaesen.

Welcome to the Mythic North – northern Europe of the nineteenth century, but not as we know it today. A land where the myths are real. A cold reach covered by vast forests, its few cities lonely beacons of industry and enlightenment – a new civilization dawning. But in the countryside, the old ways still hold sway. There, people know what lurks in the dark. They know to fear it.

Vaesen – A Chilling Horror Role-Playing Game with a Detective Twist in the Mythic North by Nils Hintze. Vaesen offers a dark and eerie setting steeped in Nordic folklore and the ancient myths of Scandinavia. The game mechanics use a customized version of the Year Zero Engine.

Trigger Warning – This role-playing game may include the following themes: murder, cruelty towards animals and humans of all ages, death, loss, mental suffering, occultism, and religious conflicts. As the setting takes place in the 19th century, social norms are also different, which involves topics such as discrimination, social inequality, exclusion, and prejudice. Child death will come up in ‘The Devil on the Moor’.

1st Adventure: The Dance of Dreams
A letter reaches the members of te newly reformed Society at castle Gyllencreutz. It contains a advertisement and a note. It advertises a shadow play, ‘The Dance of Dreams’, performed at the Witch Cat inn. The note asks the Society to meet with a K. Olaus there.

2nd Adventure: The Devil on the Moor
Grimsted Lyng is a largely untouched moor between Denmark and Germany. Only a few farmers inhabit the area. The Danish Society for Moorland Reclamation wants to restore fertility to the barren moors through artificial fertilizer, tree planting, and drainage canals. But strange things start to happen and the Society is asked for help.

System of the Month December: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork

In a distant and second-hand set of dimensions, in an astral plane that was never meant to fly, the curling star-mists
waver and part… See…

Great A’Tuin the Turtle comes, swimming slowly through the interstellar gulf, hydrogen frost on his ponderous limbs, his huge and ancient shell pocked with meteor craters. Through sea-sized eyes that are crusted with rheum and asteroid dust He stares fixedly at the Destination.

In a brain bigger than a city, with geological slowness, He thinks only of the Weight.

Most of the weight is of course accounted for by the four giant elephants upon whose broad and star-tanned shoulders the disc of the World rests, garlanded by the long waterfall at its vast circumference and domed by the baby-blue vault of Heaven.

The Colour of Magic

Welcome to Terry Pratchett’s Discworld RPG: Adventures in Ank-Morpork. The Modiphius system will be available on Kickstarter soon, but the quickstarter is already available!

We are playing the mystery intro adventure “Up in Smoke”. You embody up to 5 members of the Ankh-Morpork City Guard (pre-made characters) and have been sent out to investigate the raid on the Sunshine Home for Sick Dragons. For those in the know: We are playing around the time of Thud!.

The rules are very simple and focus heavily on role-playing. There is little fighting (and only with normal skill tests – there is no weapon damage or similar) and the focus is entirely on immersing yourself in the bizarre world of Terry Pratchett – but you don’t have to know it to have fun!

TLDR: 3-5 players, in German, pre-made characters, two different groups.

Registration soon via SwissRPG MeetUp.
