Tabletop role-playing games are a great hobby: you work together, get creative, experience exciting adventures together – the only limit is your own imagination!

We would therefore like to give as many people as possible an insight into this hobby – regardless of how much experience they already have and what their financial situation looks like. Thanks to the contributions of our members and numerous donations, we are able to introduce you to KuL Quests: The game series that anyone who enjoys playing tabletop role-playing games – or wants to play for the first time – can take part in!

For players

Have you perhaps watched a group play a tabletop role-playing game online and now want to try it out for yourself? Or would you like to get to know a new game system? Then drop by our events or directly on Discord and sign up!

All games in the KuL-Quests series are free of charge. If you are financially able to do so, we are happy and extremely grateful if you can donate something to the collection pot (approx. CHF 8 for non-members and approx. CHF 5 for club members). We use the money primarily to pay the rent, for new play equipment and to improve our rooms. You can donate in cash, by Twint or by bank transfer, details will be given to you by your game leader on site.

For game masters

Would you like to support us in our goal of introducing as many people as possible to the hobby of tabletop role-playing games?

You can use one of the game rooms free of charge as part of our KuL-Quests series. However, a few conditions apply. If you agree, please send us an email and we’ll get back to you.

Prerequisites

  • These are open game rounds, i.e. anyone can take part in your session as a player. KuL club members have the opportunity to register before everyone else for a short period of time
  • You are offering a one-shot, a one-shot series or a mini-campaign (see info box ‘Session types’ below)
  • We still have free slots for KuL-Quests sessions in the corresponding month
  • You indicate the collection (and the cash register & Twint QR codes) at the beginning of your session

Apart from that, you are free to choose how you want to organise your game session and which set of rules you want to use.

Session types

One-Shots

Self-contained adventures that are played in one session and come to an end.

One-Shot-Series/Multi-Shots

Several self-contained adventures that are each played in one session and come to an end. Although the individual adventures are linked by a common thread and an overarching story, prior knowledge of the previous adventures and their outcome is not required to follow the current adventure. The composition of the players usually varies from adventure to adventure. Decisions made by the players usually have little influence on the upcoming adventures.

Mini-campaign

An adventure whose story unfolds over several game sessions (max. 3 in a KuL-Quests mini-campaign) and which is usually played with the same composition of players. Decisions made by the players usually have an influence on the upcoming game sessions.

If your mini-campaign develops into a longer campaign, you and your group are free to rent one of the rooms on a regular basis and continue your campaign.

Special formats

As part of the KuL-Quests series, there are also special formats that are curated by the association’s board. If you are interested in running your game session under the corresponding banner, please inform us accordingly.

System of the Month

The aim of ‘System of the Month’ is to spotlight lesser-known game systems outside of ‘Dungeons & Dragons’. Take a look at the corresponding page for more information.

Official campaigns

Some game system manufacturers offer official campaigns. For example, we regularly organise ‘Pathfinder Society’ adventures. If you would also like to lead such campaigns – or those of other systems – please get in touch with us.

Living/Shared World

We are planning a KuL campaign with its own story and world. If you would like to participate in the worldbuilding – i.e. the creation of this campaign – have a look at our Discord (#kulprovement > Taskforce KuL Lore Mastering – World Building – Meta Plotting). More information will follow as soon as the planning is more advanced.

As soon as the campaign is finalised, your session can be part of it. Help shape it now or bring it to life when it is available.
