Meet us at HeroFest

This weekend, HeroFest is taking place in the Bernexpo halls in the north-east of Bern. Alongside cosplay, games, esports and lots of nerdy stuff, our beloved tabletop role-playing games will also be present.

Three KuL Game Masters on site

Of course, KuL will also be there to support! Bibl, Jarekk82 and Nevalor will offer several rounds of sessions at the SwissRPG booth on both Friday and Saturday.

Come by and play! The rounds are suitable for newcomers and beginners, so there’s no reason not to join in. 😀

Registration will take place on site at the SwissRPG booth. First come, first served!

The Star Gun must be returned!

On Wednesday, 20 September 2023, the Pathfinder Society will meet from 17:30 – approx. 23:00 in the KuL’s chambers for an important mission: the Star Gun – a valuable and powerful artefact – must be brought back to Arcadia. The adventure is 4-12: Negotiations for the Star Gun.

The adventure will be played in German.

Within their vaults the Pathfinder Society has located a rare and mysterious star gun from the distant shores of Arcadia that, while broken, still holds a deep power within it. In order to ensure that past wrongs are made right, the Society must arrange for travel within the borders of Arcadia to repair and return the star gun to its rightful home, but to do so they must first convince the council of Segada to allow a team of Pathfinders entry.

A junior team of agents is dispatched to plead their case to the councilmembers, hopefully securing friends and allies of the Society for future exploration and contact. However, a villain lies in wait, aware of the power the agents are concealing and plotting for the exact moment to strike and catch them off guard.

The adventure is suitable for characters of levels 1-4. It is also open to new players who have no role-playing experience and/or are not yet familiar with the Pathfinder system in its 2nd edition.

Introducing the Pathfinder Society

For several months now, the KuL-room has also become the home of the Pathfinder Society. Time to properly introduce ourselves!

A globally played, living campaign

The Pathfinder Society is an official campaign by the creators of Pathfinder. New adventures are released monthly – and certain decisions made by the players even influence the upcoming adventures. Therefore, your own character is also stored online, and you receive an Organized Play ID that you bring with you to the sessions. The played adventures are recorded on a Chronicle sheet and reported back to Paizo by the Game Master via a website. This allows you to participate in official Pathfinder Society adventures with your character anywhere in the world.

So, Who Exactly Is This Society?

The Pathfinder Society is a network of adventurous heroes who want to know what lies beyond the horizon, what knowledge long-lost civilizations have left us, and what new friendships can be formed and what companions can be found in the distance.

It is not without reason that the Society’s credo is “Explore. Report. Cooperate.”! All members are encouraged to acquire new knowledge and make it accessible to other Pathfinders. Equally important is to support others, seek new allies, and never lose one’s curiosity for new adventures.

Several factions are part of the Pathfinder Society. They do not compete with each other, but each has their own ideas and priorities when it comes to implementing the goals of the Society. As a member of the Pathfinder Society, you join a faction and earn reputation with your chosen faction with each successfully completed adventure, which you can use over time for various bonuses.

For more information, visit the English website of Paizo.

One-Shot Series instead of a Campaign

The Pathfinder Society adventures are self-contained one-shots that can be played in one evening. However, a common thread runs through different adventures, so that within a season lasting a year, a cohesive story can be experienced.

Since life away from the role-playing table often disrupts scheduling, it’s not a problem if you miss one adventure or another. You can join in at any time and rejoin after missed game sessions.

Getting Involved

Currently, the Pathfinder Society meets once a month – specifically on the second Wednesday of the month. You can find more information in the Tyton calendar.
