KuL Quests are here!

We announced some time ago that the Arcanor campaign had ended. Since then, we have been thinking about what to do next.

Events for everyone

It is important to us that the successor to Arcanor is also open to everyone who enjoys playing tabletop role-playing games. Participation should also be free of charge – although we are of course grateful for a contribution to the collection. This is why all sessions in the KuL Quest series will be organised in this way.

More than «just» «Dungeons & Dragons»

Arcanor was a «Dungeons & Dragons« campaign. Of course, the oldest tabletop role-playing game system is also familiar to many people who have had little contact with the hobby. However, KuL Quests are not restricted to a specific set of rules. All GMs who would like to run a session can rent a KuL room free of charge – whether it’s «Dungeons & Dragons», «The Dark Eye», «Shadowrun» or the latest hot cake from the recently launched Kickstarter campaign.

And when is the new KuL campaign coming?

Unlike the previous Arcanor sessions, KuL Quest sessions are not all set in the same universe. However, we are in the process of creating a new campaign – a complete world with its own story and many new adventure possibilities for GMs and players! We are therefore calling on all GMs who would like to help with the development: Get in touch with us on Discord.

Do all KuL Quest sessions have to take place in the new campaign world?

No, they don’t have to. As a GM, you always have the freedom to decide that your session is not part of the campaign. However, sessions that are part of the campaign world will be advertised and marked accordingly. Just like the Arcanor sessions used to be advertised.

How do I offer a KuL Quest? Or take part in one?

You can find all information about KuL Quests on the KuL Quest information page.

Goodbye Laupenstrasse!

It will soon be over, the time when our association had its home in Laupenstrasse. And even though we have every reason to look forward to the new location and all the great stories we will experience in Güterstrasse, we want to raise our glasses to Laupenstrasse once again!

We’re saying goodbye to Laupenstrasse with one last social event. This is a ‘Bring your own Beer’ event so that we don’t have to do a lot of shopping and move any drinks and food that haven’t been consumed.

We will meet on Thursday, 23 January 2025 from 18:00 – approx. 20:00 on Laupenstrasse for a cosy get-together and a chat. And maybe there will be one or two first-hand progress reports from the construction site!

A charity dinner with a catch

On this second Wednesday of the month, the Pathfinder Society meets again in the vaults of the association: 08. January 2025 at 17:30 until approx. 23:00 we agents will go on another adventure. It will be the adventure 6-01: Intro into the Year of Immortal Influence and will be played in Swiss German (or in standard German if this works better for individual players).

The Pathfinders find themselves invited to a charity dinner to benefit the Knights of Lastwall fighting in far-off lands against the lich king, Tar-Baphon. In the middle of dinner, evidence of a strange ritual arises, and the Pathfinders must investigate before dinner becomes a murder mystery!

The adventure is suitable for characters of levels 1-4. It is also open to new players who do not yet have any role-playing experience and/or are not yet familiar with the Pathfinder system in its 2nd edition.

You can sign up via Meetup.
Keep in mind that this adventure will be played in German.

System of the Month January: Brindlewood Bay

Put away your knitting and close up the gardening shed, because the sheriff of Brindlewood Bay has just approached you with news of another mysterious death in Brindlewood Bay! And who better to solve this week’s mystery than you, dear Murder Maven, and your fellow krimi bookclub members? Investigate and meddle to your hearts’ content, but be wary of the dark and the secrets it holds.

Brindlewood Bay is a PBtA cozy crime drama inspired by TV shows such as Murder, She Wrote, with cosmic horror undertones. Play is both narrative and collaborative. The solution to the mystery is not set in advance, but discovered together through clue gathering and the success (or failure) of your theories!

The event is fully booked.

Happy holidays and a happy new year!

Dear members, dear role-players!

December is almost over and it’s time for another year in review. It was a year of some ups and supposed downs, a year full of exciting adventures, fantastic encounters and unforgettable moments at the table – be it epic battles, shady intrigues or creative manoeuvres by our heroes that drove the GMs to the brink of despair.

The past year was a year of growth. Our room was booked more than twice as often as in the previous year (160 bookings), we held 57 KuL events and public games and offered several other activities (such as the «Master’s Talk» or «From Player to GM»). We have now grown to 40 members who support our association and share in our association’s philosophy and purpose. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your enthusiasm, your help and, of course, your membership. A huge thank you!

So, the new year is almost upon us. We hope you can enjoy the festive season to the fullest, whether it’s with the people you care about or with strangers* in a cosy, exciting and/or nerve-wracking role-playing session to round off the month. May the year ahead be just as exciting for you – with even more fantastic adventures, creative ideas and a consistently good roll for initiative.

We look forward to giving you a detailed review and outlook of what the board is up to at the general meeting in January 2025: the new location, for example – but also the successor to our Arcanor campaign. If you want to find out more now and don’t want to wait until 16 January 2025, take a look at the association’s annual report linked below.

Happy holidays and a wonderful new year.
