System of the Month February: Knave 2e

In February, we enter the domain of the Old School Renaissance, or OSR for short. A game style that is based on the early days of Dungeons and Dragons. We’re playing Knave 2e, a very lean rules system that gives GMs and players maximum freedom in how to approach and resolve situations in the game.

The adventure “The Waking of Willowby Hall” by Knave creator Ben Milton offers us an awakening manor, the church bell-wielding and very angry giant Bonebreaker Tom and the goose Mildred, who supposedly lays golden eggs.

The characters will be rolled up together at the beginning. The game can be played in English or German and can accommodate up to 5 players.

Hi there! If you ran the game in German do you still have any translated notes? I will run the module in German at a con and would be happy over any input.

Hi! I ran it in german but used the english book and translated mostly directly at the table without further notes. There were some words I had to look up beforehand, noting them directly into the book.
We needed 2 Sessions get out of the manor again but I think I could’ve pushed a bit more.
I used a miniature house and a giant to not lose track, where the giant was standing.
